It’s hard to narrow in on our favorite things – because there were so many! If we had to pick the top 10 things not to miss… this is it!
1: Blue Mosque
This is quite possibly the most beautiful building we’ve seen. The tiles on the ceiling are incredible. Plan to spend time just sitting on the carpets and enjoying.

2. Hagia Sophia
This mosque has so much history behind it and the architecture is incredible.

3. Airbnb Tour – Asian Side of Istanbul
This tour was a favorite of ours. Happy to share the link on airbnb. Getting a private tour from such a knowledgeable guide of an area that isn’t nearly as touristy was a highlight. Along with this, come back at night and get a sunset cruise on the Bosporus for less than $1!

4. Rooftop Dinner at Sunset
There are so many places to have a rooftop dinner. We loved talking to the staff at the restaurants, watching the sunset and hearing the call to prayer from all around the city.

5. Book Bazaar
This is a much smaller bazaar and is so charming – hidden behind some of the other buildings.

6. Galata Bridge
Near the tower is a bridge connecting two areas of Istanbul. It’s full of local people fishing and just has so much going on to watch.

7. Basilica Cistern
This is a super unique place to visit. Hard to imagine this being built 1500 years ago, just below the busy city streets.

8. Topkapi Palace
This palace is expansive and you could spend all day there. It has fabulous views, gardens and interesting rooms to tour.

9. Grand Bazaar
Can’t go to Istanbul without visiting the Grand Bazaar – you really do get lost in all of the rows of stores.

10. Arasta Bazaar
We really liked this bazaar – much smaller than the Grand Bazaar. It was our first views of Istanbul, and we were so excited to be in this special city.
