The charming town of Mystic!
We didn’t get to spend much time in the state of Connecticut, as we were just passing through on an epic New England road trip (you can check out the full video below).

While we were here, we spent the evening in Mystic, which ended up being a really nice stop in the middle of a busy travel stretch.
We had dinner at the iconic Mystic Pizza, grabbed ice cream at Drawbridge Ice Cream, and walked along the riverfront to take in the views of the harbor and boats.
It wasn’t a long stay, but it had a really relaxed, small-town feel that was a nice contrast to the few days before and after. Our hotel was comfortable and well located, which made it easy to walk around in the evening and keep everything simple.
Mystic worked perfectly as a one-night stopover between a very packed stretch of travel — the 24 hours before we were in Philadelphia and New York City, and right after we headed on to Newport, RI and Cape Cod.
