What to do with 1 day in the smallest state.
Our trip to Rhode Island was short but sweet! We visited during our New England Road trip where we saw 13 states in 2 weeks. Check out what we did in the town of Newport with our 1 day here!

During our visit to Newport, our mail goal was to visit the historic mansions along the coastline.
We parked near ’40 Steps’ and took out walking along the coast. You got to walk right along the ocean with it’s waves crashing up to the walkway. There are many enormous mansions you can see, and some you can even tour if you have the time. It’s a little extravagant (the homes), but the scenery is very picturesque.
After our nice walk, we headed into town to get lunch. Right next to the International Tennis Hall of fame – which you can walk the grounds of (very beautiful), is a super cute diner called Annie’s. Very weird coincidence – my family was here in Newport when I was about my kids age, and we went to this exact same diner 20 years earlier! Out of all the restaurants in the area… very weird! It was a great place with delicious food and lots of locals. Newport is certainly a cute town with amazing scenery if you’re able to make it a part of your road trip.
