Aruba

The amazing scenery of Aruba!

We visited Aruba during a 12 night cruise through the ABC islands and South America. We had 12 hours on the island of Aruba and loved every second. It’s a place I recommend to so many people because it has such a variety. I’ll share what we got up to while there.

This trip was taken December 2022.

We actually took this cruise as a backup option after we had planned to go on a cruise in the Mediterranean in summer 2020… but we all know what happened. We had booked and rescheduled so many different cruises since then, and then finally decided that we needed to pick something! By this point we were getting a bit more adventurous and didn’t want to just settle with a cruise to the Caribbean. This cruise happened over Christmas break from school, and although we missed Christmas with our family, it was such a great time visiting all of these countries. Check out our full trip here:

For our day in Aruba, we booked a tour through ABC Tours (booked on Expedia). We hate doing cruise ship excursions because they are too expensive, crowded busses and never as much fun 😉

This was an amazing tour! We were late getting off the boat (waiting on clearance from port authority) and they were still there waiting for us. They took us straight to the rest of the group which was great. They literally threw us in the back of a truck with wood planks as seats ha!

We visited so many places in this full day tour – natural bridges, lighthouse, church, saw tons of cacti, national park, natural pools and more! Our guides, boss lady and JD were amazing. They were so informative, funny and made sure we had a great time. The variety of places we saw was great – felt like we really got a feel for the island. It was super bumpy which the kids thought was awesome.

We had a great lunch back at their headquarters and they were so accommodating. We had so many laughs at the cave area where they had fish in a pond that clean your feet, had an awesome time jumping off the rocks in the beautiful natural pool, and enjoyed our swim at Baby Beach – although it had rained right before we arrived and was a little chilly believe it or not. This tour was a great value, a wonderful way to see the island and was my families unanimous favorite tour for our entire 12 day cruise.

When we were done, we had a bit more time to walk around the touristy center right near the boat. But the tour was a highlight!
