Maine is one of those states that I keep dreaming of going back to. We were lucky enough to get to spend 2 days in some wonderful towns, but there is so much else we are waiting to see.

This trip was taken July 2021

In Maine, we visited 3 main places: Kennebunkport, Mount Agamenticus and Ogunquit.
Kennebunkport
Our first stop was the charming town of Kennebunkport. We spent an afternoon here knocking off a few quintessential Maine activities. First things first, get a lobster roll from the Clam Shack! This place had a huge line, and for obvious reasons. The lobster roll was amazing, and the seating was picnic table style right near the bay. Perfect way to start our time in Maine.
After that – we headed over to HB Provisions to get the famous Maine dessert – a whoopie pie! (or maybe we got a few of them….)
We took our whoopie pie over to Walker Point. From here, you could overlook former President Bush’s estate, but more than that – it just had amazing views of the water. It has these beautiful rocks you can sit and climb on while enjoying the views. Kennebunkport is a super cute town!

Mount Agamenticus
This was an impromptu stop for us, as it was a beautiful day and we wanted to stay outside. You can drive all the way to the top for sweeping views of the area. There wasn’t that much to do at the top, but the views were awesome and the property itself was really nice.

Ogunquit
We LOVED this town! We stayed in a beautiful hotel called the Ogunquit River Inn. It had a huge backyard overlooking the marshy area, and the sea would come in during high tide, and out during low. It was a quick drive to the middle of town where we could get a nice dinner at Ramp Bar and Grill. We walked along Marginal Way, a 3 mile stretch of path along the coast… stunning! Our main activity while here was spending a relaxing day at the beach. The beach is huge and gorgeous, but also very interesting because when the tide rolls in, it fills up an area that then looks like a river. When it flows back out, kids were riding on inner tubes along it.
